Is This Program for You?

If you have gotten this far it probably is. However, you should examine your motives and interests before deciding.

This Program is for you if:

•  You are genuinely interested in becoming a professional travel agent.

•  You are willing to study hard to complete the home-study course.

•  Your motivation is to enter an enjoyable profession and earn good commissions on your sales.

•  You are willing to book travel for your customers yourself and not rely on someone else to do your work for you.

•  You have or are willing to get necessary computer equipment to make reservations on your computer and produce attractive Invoice and Itinerary Forms for your customers. (The fact that you have accessed this Internet site indicates you probably have the necessary equipment.)

•  You understand the high cost and continuing overhead of opening your own fully accredited travel agency and realize the advantage of working through Certified Travel rather than investing $50,000 or more to become an airline approved travel agent.

The Certified Travel Network program is not for you if:

•  Your motivation is to get in the travel business to receive travel agent travel benefits and reduced rates.

NOTE: Beware of offers claiming that you will be immediately entitled to travel agent benefits in the form or free trips, reduced rates, family trips, etc. Virtually all travel vendors now require that you produce an industry approved (IATAN) ID card to receive these benefits. You must have commissioned income of $5,000 per year to receive the IATAN card.

•  You want to only make referrals of customers rather than performing necessary research and making reservations yourself. You are willing to risk $50,000 or more to establish your own accredited travel agency.
